Remember last year’s Old Bridge Inn dig as part of the Mernda Rail Extension Project? The artefacts have all been cleaned up and will be on display at the City of Whittlesea Civic Centre.
The Mernda Rail Extension Project and the City of Whittlesea Come are partnering to present a Family Open Day on Saturday 26 May 2018 so everyone can check out the fascinating finds and hear from archaeologists. They’ll be roving all day so you can ask your burning archaeological questions!
The day runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with talks between 11:00am and 12 noon:
- Bottles, Bullets and Teacups: Artefacts from the Old Bridge Inn – Bronwyn Woff and Dr Michelle Negus Cleary
- Recent Archaeological Projects in Plenty Gorge Park – Jeremy Smith.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about your local area; bring the kids along and meet others who are also interested. Everyone from Time Team fans to amateur historians welcome!
When: Saturday 26 May 2018, 10:00am to 2:00pm (talks from 11:00am to 12 noon)
Where: City of Whittlesea Civic Centre, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang
