Tas: Rural Settlement Land Use – Landscape archaeology of the farmer and the convict, Forcett House, Forcett


Event Details


The historic property known as Forcett House is one of the oldest and most prominent historic sites in the Municipality of Sorell. The tour will examine the surrounding property and archaeological sites associated with the rural landscape of James Gordon and William Gunn, as well as their convict servants. This event is by kind invitation of the land owners of Forcett House and the adjoining farm.

Due to the nature of the walk, sturdy footwear must be worn as we will be traversing active farming land. Places are limited and bookings are essential.
