Mr Peter Weever will give a talk on the history of Altona’s early homesteads at the Altona Homestead Museum on Tuesday 21st May at 12pm.
The Altona Homestead Museum has an extensive collection of photographs and documents through which visitors can gain an understanding and insight of life experienced over the Homestead’s 170 year history. Included in the collection are photographs of WWI training exercises in the area which will be on display over the weekend of 16th and 17th May.
The Altona Homestead was the first homestead run established on Port Phillip Bay in 1842, and is now the home of the Altona Laverton Historical Society Inc.
